Be my Companion?

“Kunn saahib al-kitaab, laa saahib al-kutub”

Transl. “Be a companion of the book, not a companion of the books.”

In other words, rather than have a massive library of books, dedicate yourself to one book in every field and master it.

  1. You know what? I’ve realised that this goes against the “Victims of Specialisation” theory I’ve been asserting. But eh, it doesn’t simply mean stick to one forever right. It goes to show that once you’ve mastered it, move on to the next field. Sa7? Wallahu a’lam.
